Growing up learning the violin and listening to a mix of classical music, traditional Chinese music, American and Chinese pop, Adai has got a diverse musical background. She wrote her first song at the age of 12 and went on to self-teach herself guitar and keyboard to facilitate songwriting.

Ever since graduating from UCLA in 2016, Adai started her career as an independent singer, songwriter, and producer. Selected as the runner-up at“the Force”Music Competition of Tencent Musicians in 2018 (原力计划), she got the opportunity to release her first album Cyan Black <青黑> and later gained a broader recognition on a Youku music show Chuang (这!就是原创).

As a songwriter and music producer, her music was synced to some of the most prime-time TV series and theater films, including  Crocodile and the Plover Bird <鳄鱼与牙签鸟> and theater film Almost a Comedy <半个喜剧>.
